On behalf of the Our Lady of the Pillar Parents’ Club, it is our pleasure to welcome all new and returning families to the 2020-2021 school year. The Parents’ Club Executive Board, Committee Chairs and all volunteers are going to plan some wonderful events this year. We look forward to taking this opportunity to think outside the box to keep the Pillar spirit alive!

2020 has brought about a lot of change, and one of those major changes was the merging ofthe Pillar Mother’s Club and the Mens’ Club for the first time ever. This change occurred over the course of last year with the goal of inclusiveness for both men and women in all Pillar events. The purpose of the Parents’ Club remains the same despite its new name. We aid the OLP parish, students, teachers and staff by providing support for educational and recreational needs. Previous years, the Parents’ Club supported staffing the cafeteria with volunteers, planning class celebrations and various school events. We will need to come together as a community and see how we can create these same events but in a safe way for the students, teachers and staff.

The Parents’ Club also raises funds for educational resources, technology and building improvements. Last year Parents’ Club purchased new desks for Grades 1-8, 22 chrome books, virtual reality goggles, a Matt Wilhelm assembly, a disinfectant sprayer, as well as many other wonderful items for the students and staff. It is our mission to foster fellowship between OLP parents in everything we do.

We recently launched our new Parents’ Club website sites.google.com/view/olp-parents-club. The website has event dates, committee assignments, volunteer opportunities and any news or updates. Check out the site today! Finally, another way you can stay connected with us is our new Parents’ Club Instagram account – @PillarParentsClub. There you can stay updated on all school, parish and community events using Instagram!

We are so grateful to be part of the Pillar family and are privileged to serve as your first ever Parents’ Club Executive Board. Volunteering for Pillar events has helped us get to know the many wonderful families at Pillar. We hope you will join us this year! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Best wishes,

The Parents’ Club Executive Board
